All very valid points. I went to high school up in Pompano. I went to the beach every moment I could as a kid then. Would be there everyday if I returned. Sigh

Yeah, I call it a "foot in a door" maneuver. People rarely move to Florida for jobs, inverse of Texas where it is a long time norm. Thus, every employer has doubts that sane people want to actually move here to Florida. And even if they do believe you would move, there is still a doubt if you would not soon back-paddle to where you came from and then after spending time to train they would be left again without an employee. People do like to come visit Florida, there is just not many who would seriously consider moving in permanently. Thus the skepticism I encountered.
