I have experienced the C2 abort code three times now at shallow depths in cold water while diving my Poseidon 7. I've tried the Poseidon recommended fix of switch primary and secondary sensors with no change to the alarm. I suspect wet sensors from condensation and I have herd that moisture is a common issue with the Poseidon VI and Seven. One señor was eight months old and the other was about a month old.

Has anyone had this issue and what have you done to fix it?

And for all the non-Poseidon users that are going to say it's a POS, dump it and buy brand XYZ... Don't waste my time with smarta** remarks, I'm looking for useful and productive information. And yes I talked to my original instructor and I didn't get any useful information.

An instructor on your unit couldn't help you, yet you're pissing on the idea that your unit isn't ideal for this use? Denial, Egyptian river, etc.

Even if you think the Posidon is a great eCCR, it's impossible to deny that the design philosophy behind it has elected to treat doubt as an unsafe condition over broader functionality (including erring on the side of caution in the type of environment in which you're using it).

Dr. thank you for your highly educated, condescending and deeply philosophical response. Unfortunately your statement is nebulous and completely useless.

Unfortunately, so is your eCCR's cell validation. Good luck!

You may have already, but have you not called Poseidon's customer/ technical support? Talk to a designing engineer, if possible, they can give you better insight (being that the Poseidon company is in Scandinavia, it may not be a viable idea, but it is a thought). It may be that they will only talk to dealers & certified repair techs , but if you have not, it may be an idea. If you have gotten that first idea for correction from their tech support, then call again to see what else they may have to help you. No, I do not dive the MK6/7, but my instructor teaches the unit & yes, they are very temperamental, I've seen it time & again when it would give an "abort" alarm or would not start up because of it. My Prism2 has, from time to time, given me some funky O2 readings from excess condensation moisture. It has always been intermittent.

Hi Divemaster,
Have you downloaded the red box file and sent to Poseidon? Can contain information to fix it.

It seems that there is an issue with the firmware in the electronics package that is causing this, not moisture as I was thinking. Poseidon is making good and has taken the unit back for an upgrade and repair.
