If you use Poseidon regs in a sidemount setup, show off your routing. I am curious what folks do with these regs as there are no turrets. My first regs will show up shortly and I'll share the setup once it is squared away.

They aren't ideal and I don't use them often. I'm considering looking for a couple banjo swivels to make inflator whip routing a bit better. These lengths aren't ideal but they do work with the left inflator tucked to the tank.

I use sometimes a Poseidon Xstream 1st and 2nd stage in sidemount on my left tank with regular hose.
So my routing is like on your 1st pic.

The hose with the regulator is up, and a shorter hose that goes into my Xdeep Stealth Tec, is under. As you say it it's not ideal, but ok.

On the other tank i use an Apeks, Tecline or Mares XR reg all with turrets.

@grantmac - I was wondering about banjo use. Right now I have two regs coming in - one for O2 and and one stage. I am debating on adding two more regs for sidemount use in cave with DPV. My primary concern is the routing from the first stage.

I have made extensive use of banjos with Poseidon gear for years — since the Cyklon 300 and those early Vance Harlow mimeographs on "voodoo gas" were still in circulation among the reckless -- and have used them with every successive model of first stage, through to the 4790s (Xstream); and have variously oriented the stages at, say, forty-five degrees, off of vertical ; at any points in between (simple with either the DIN or screw-on yoke) — and have never wanted or needed for turrets.

Couple that with the lack of directionality with any of their second stages -- no up or down -- and you have quite a host of possible arrangements . . .

Folks, I need help, the scuba kind. Took my Poseidon regs for the first sidemount dive. The experience was okay - I obviously need to optimize the routing. As there no turrets on the 1 stages, how do you orient your valves for no-kink routing options. Valve up? Also, is the preference to go with a Hogarthian setup, i.e., hoses over the neck? Finally, if you DPV with Xstreams, what's your secret? My jaw did not feel comfortable and I think I need a better mouthpiece.

More banjo fittings!

I'm running behind the neck. A Poseidon is probably the only regs I'd consider running dual breakaway necklace without going behind the neck, but I haven't seen the need for that yet.

I'd also consider dual long hoses but you definitely need to be aware of them twisting during changes if both go behind the neck.

Spent a few hours playing with various hose configs. Dual long hose will give the cleanest routing.

Here is the winner for now.

- Left side - long hose on the bottom. A transmitter and a dry suit hose on the top.

- Right side - short hose + bango on the side. A transmitter and a bladder hose on the top.

I am not sure whether sticking the transmitters on top (lollipop style) will work. If not, I have enough room between the bottom port and the tank.
