I thought port actually did open this afternoon Christi/Dave?
I wasn’t in a position to see if boats were going out or not, but a friend got a call from someone in the industry who said port opened at 1:30 and they were on their surface interval at the time. Possible my friend misunderstood I guess

I heard it never opened by several people.
Yea, was texting with captain friend at SI, said it opened around noon, wasn't bad just cold. Wind was still blowing somewhat but must have shifted directions. They have a smaller boat so it musta been totally open.....

I’ll be on the island again in about three weeks; any different/better chances for February versus January historically? I’ve looked at all the stickies/past posts but lots of varying opinions - thx!

It's the same weather, so it's just a risk to prepare for. I came for a week last February and had no problems, but it's the luck of the draw. Good luck.
I did have to wear 3 mil more than in summer and long pants some nights.
