I just scored an Akona 6.5mm farmer john for $144.95. Can't beat this deal.

You can find these on Leisurepro, but stock is spotty right now. Alternatively, you can find them -- new -- on eBay through diveus.com. 157 total includes shipping. A hard deal to beat on a good suit.

Dive shops sometimes sell off there rental gear. I picked up a perfectly good 2-piece 7mm suit for $90. Sure, I'd like a "better" suit but this one gets me in the water.

Yes -- I tried to get one this way through my LDS for two years. They have an annual "flea market" event where they sell older stuff, and friends/customers can come set up a table and sell their stuff. Problem was that all the ones in my size were either gone before I got there, or they just had the smaller ones. But this is definitely a great way to get ahold of one.

Personally, I am elated that I will soon dive in a nice new suit that I know has not been used as an underwater urinal!

You may also want to contact Bob3 from this board about a Scuba Max wetsuit. I bought a 7mm super stretch semi-dry for about half the price of one locally and for about a third of the price of a henderson. It not as stretchy as the henderson but then I suspect it will not compress as much at depth as the Henderson either.

I'd second that a ScubaMax semi-dry is easy to put on. It's a back zip but you can get in and out yourself as long as you put the right arm on first (the zipper flap lays better that way.) The material is fairly stretchy as neoprene goes and holds up well. I have about a hundred dives on mine.

Akona 2-pc 6.5mm. Got it through DiveUS.com via eBay Dutch auction. $144.95 + shipping. I am one happy camper. Now, the only thing I ever need to rent is a tank.

Nice suit!
