LP 95's just hydro'd in May

They did not get a plus rating this time. Tank new in 93 and had it then, Hydro'd in 98 and had it then. Why not this time. Is it a matter of where it was done? what was requested? Would this make the value lower as I might buy 4 of them.

FWIW - they were filled to 3300 this weekend and worked fine.

Thanks

You usually need to ask explicitly that the + rating be sought. Otherwise many testers don't bother. It's possible that they did not meet that heightened requirement.

As for value that means that by the book they're not 93F as the advertised capacity is with the + 10% extra pressure. That would put a ding in the value. If those 300 PSI fills are readily available to you where you dive it becomes much less of an issue.

It's my experience the issue is a moot point. 99% of fill stations do not deviate from their fill capacity policy regardless of the plus rating. Taking your tanks to the same LDS who performed the visual inspection increases your chances of greater fills...

One typically needs to request the plus rating. If they were just done in May and the cylinder have the REE stamped on them you might take them back ask for the details of the test as the plus rating is not a special test per say but a calculation based on the std hydro test. The tester will have all the data as they are required to keep it on file.

As for value - IMHO it change nothing.
