There was a thread a little while ago in which the OP asked why some people prefer a certain configuration. It went on quite a while before someone stepped in and ranted about people trying to shove a certain configuration (DIR) down everyone's throat. I was surprised, since I had not noticed that, so I went through every post in search of that happening. I used the M-quote feature to produce a huge list of quotes in which people said in essence, "I personally prefer this sort of configuration because XXX, but everybody should just use whatever they like best." All those posts were direct on-topic replies to the OP's question. I could not find a single post in which anyone said other configurations were "wrong."

As for this poll, I did not participate because I did not like the choices. Everyone has looked at different options and made a decision as to what they believe is best for them under certain circumstances. I have as well. I did not think the option that came closest to saying that carried the correct connotation.

I have to agree with the OP on this one, just try to post a thread stating you use an air2 and a pony as a OW diver and see what kind of responces you get!

There is only one correct way to dive: DA Aqua-Master double hose on a steel 72 with J valve. No BC. Any other configuration is just plain WRONG!!!!!

And I didn't vote in your poll as none of them match what I think. I think I dive in a way that is superior for me. I have no opinion about whether it is suitable for other people or not. People should do what they like.

There are many ways to dive, but my style is superior for me on this particular dive. On another dive another style may be better suited.

Interesting... that there are so many who do have a dive style but don't think it's superior. If you don't believe your personal style is superior, why do you bother having one?><>

Sas, just remember the SAT instructions. Paraphrasing: Choose the correct answer or the most likely to be correct. I therefore was one of the 13 (so far) that voted for the 3rd option. I happen to agree with the people I'm quoting in this post (except for the comment on not voting).
