Plastic BP

Dive rite makes a plastic BP, still not sure why you want one.

If you have a problem with the AL plate abrading webbing, then take some sandpaper and smooth out the edges. oms plates come smoothed already, and some other makes offer this as an option.
Some guys prefer the rough edges because they bite into the webbing a little and hold the webbing in place so there is no shifting around.

OK I got material last night. It's 420mm HP water pipe.
I'll just cut out piece that I need and it will be nice and round. Obout durability, I'll use it only with single bottle and side mount.

A DiveRite ABS BP.

I use it when I dive off of my kayak. Very light, takes a beating, does not damage the plastic yak.

The ABS is pretty strong. If it breaks the BP, it will most probably have already broken you.

The BP is pretty much neutral, I dive with an HP80 to keep my bouyancy in check.
