Daytona is 1 hour,Jax is 2 hours.
I have close to 2000 dives from Vero to the Tortugas and still prefer NE Florida diving.

A very simple dive plan that would entail only gear would be shore dives anywhere from Vero south to Ft.Pierce.There is often decent vis and it is easy shallow diving weather permitting.

Been diving the local lakes since 2001. Table Rock, Norfork, BullShoals, Lake of the Ozarks(mudhole)

SSI Basic Open water, I have had the classes and dives for to cert for master just not the money or time to finish it.

Night/Low vis, Search and Recovery, Boat, Stress Rescue. For 3 years I was a Capt. of a Rescue/ Recovery dive team for a Vol.Fire dept. We got our Public Safety Diving cert through Team LGS.
I dove Lake Norfork back in the late '70's when I lived in Peoria. I think you will like the diving in Palm Beach county.

In Jupiter try Jupiter Dive Center -

A little south, Jim Abernethy or Walkers Dive Charters.

South of there, in Lantana?Boynton Beach, Starfish Enterprises

All are excellent operators - the diving south of Jupiter is a little less deep; likely fewer large animals. All PB diving is drift, like Cozumel.
