After the tsunami, are there still as many dive shop on Phi Phi Island?

A friend of my (not me) who’s a native Thai in his 60s, decided to retire from the States and going back to Thailand (Phi Phi) to open up a dive shop, what advice would you guys give him if you were his friend.?

Like any other business your friend should do some serious research first. Have seen quite a fair share of dive shops open and close within months, 1 just recently up the road from us managed to stay open for 2 months. Closed his doors only last week.
