More posts than dives? Someone needs to get out from in front of the computer and get into the water... :poke:

Tell walter that he need to dive then since he has 14k posts and <3000 dives according to his profile..

Also some people should be aware that the number people display isnt neccesarilly correct and could be both way high and way low.

Yeah, one of my pet peeves of scuba(board) is people that assume that because they have more dives they are better divers.. Thats probably one of the biggest misconceptions out there..

New divers aka silt kickers

You are a new diver so I guess you hate yourself then?

Another pet peeve are people who think that posting on an internet forum is mutually incompatible with diving :rofl3: What am I supposed to do the other five/six days a week I am not diving?? :D

If this was directed at me and my previous post....I do not care if my response was directed at somebody who actually had 50,000 dives. Arrogance is arrogance. Everybody was new once and I would rather buddy up with a new diver than a cocky diver. The cocky diver is likely to be more dangerous in my opinion.

Ain't that the truth.

I don't like diving with people who are distracting. For example...I was diving with Jessica Alba one day and she kept on, and on, and on distracting me. Wait a minute:confused:

Ok...I dreamed of being distracted while diving with Jessica Alba:D

A little one:

Remember "Skin Diver" magazine? It was useful, and was around for over 40 years. Now, that space at the library has "Rodale's SCUBA" magazine. Although there are some safety articles worth reading, "SCUBA" is mostly salesmanship.

Sports-snobs:

Skiing - "It's not steep enough", "It's too steep", "Snow's not powdery enough"......

Rockclimbing - "It's not steep enough", "It's too steep", "Rock's not hard enough"....

Windsurfing - "It's not blowing hard enough", "It's blowing too hard", "Water's too....(insert reason)

Scubadiving - "It's not deep enough", "It's too deep", "Water's too... (insert reason), "There's nothing to see", "It's too cold", "It's too hot".....ad nauseum.

Heavy sigh....I guess I just like to do stuff because it's fun:dork2: and I don't want to miss out.

Sports-snobs just miss out.:shakehead:

:admingreet:ooooo ooooo I thought of one :admingreet:

Poor fills.... esp in our 8 Litre tanks! We put out the $ to get High pressure DIN tanks, converted regs to DIN cause we were told we could get better fills. We still wind up with the same or less than our buddies with yoke systems.
Then the :dork2: at the dive shop that says.... "You guys don't breath underwater anyway.. you don't need good fills.... you always come back with air anyway" :shocked2:(I thought the idea was to come back with air! I seem to remember something about... out with a third back with a third.. surface with a third!):shakehead:

bygolly I gotta give that one to tigerman.... if you need a shovel to find the stiff water and an ax or chainsaw to get to the water.... it IS too cold:rofl3:
