That is a great photo of a magnificent little creature! How big is it??

I just looked it up...the pointy bits are actually the mantle? Photos show the shell as smooth, like a chestnut, but spotted. Amzing.

Correct on the description. As for the size... not sure. Definitely as big as my hand, not "small" for sure.

In all the years I have been diving the waters here (Tampa) I had never spotted one. This year I came across quite a few. it is nice to see them "moving in", if you will. We had some terrible bouts with Red Tide that left our sea life devastated. That said, each season it seems something new has come back. Quite fun to see it happening.
