Paradise Springs
I hoping to get wet this weekend and wanted to see if anyone was interested in coming along.
On Sunday 15th I was planning on going to Paradise Springs and doing 3-4 dives
Paradise Springs is a commercially operated dive site. This site is considered a Cavern because it is an overhead environment and shaped similar to Blue Grotto or Ginnie Spring. Open Water Divers should limit their depth to 60ft. The maximum depth at Paradise Springs is 140 feet if you proceed into the cave past 100’. Anything below 100 feet is absolutely a cave dive and should not be attempted without the correct training, equipment, and gas mix. You need lights (x2) throughout the dive. This is a nice dive with visibility often being excellent, although you should arrive early or during a weekday to avoid the crowd. There is a bathroom on site that you can use to change and do other stuff. Since the Dive Site is ran out of the man’s house I don’t get air fills here and just bring enough tanks for the day. Entry fee is $30 and you must watch video before going diving.
Web Site: Paradise Springs
Types of possible Dives:
1. Descend to 100ft – Grim Reaper Sign and explore bottom – may use enriched air for this dive - not entering Cave at bottom.
2. Descend to 100ft again but slowly explore working our way back up
3. Descend to 60ft explore walls and look for fossils.
4. Descend to 30ft and explore debris mound and surrounding walls
If you only want to do one or two of the above then that is ok in my log book.
Thanks!
Ben
