I bought a K valve 80cu. ft tank. My friends dad is in the local vol. fire dept and can fill my tank for free. The system they have there is a cascade fill station, and they have whips that have a female DIN connector that screw onto their 2216psi SCOTT scba tanks. Im fairly certain that i need this yoke

GENESIS DIN-to-YOKE Adaptor SCUBA DIVING - eBay (item 300219337053 end time May-01-08 14:34:47 PDT)

and then i just need a DIN double male/ male to male fitting. Then screw one side with teflon tape into the end of that yoke, and than screw the fire dept's female whip end onto that, and fill it that way. Is this correct. Is there an easier way? And where can i find the fitting i need. I've looked everywhere......Thanks!!

yeah i know thats what im trying to make.. instead of paying 75 bucks plus shipping. i can just buy the yoke for 30 and buy the fitting for 3 or 4... And yoke they're selling is exactly what i described...

Is that yoke adapter that i linked a 346 or 347? And what would the scba whip female connector be? Or how can i find out?

It seems the link you had has a price of $60.00, so your really not saving anything but a few bucks, and your getting the part you are actually looking for.

The one you linked to is neither a 346 OR a 347, it's SCUBA DIN fitting, which is totally different from what a fire department uses. Just make life easy and buy the one I showed you. You can piece it together yourself, but you still need the 346/347 fitting, a yoke fitting, and at least one of them should be able to bleed pressure. Like I said, just buying the fitting ready to go is the best bet.

It is amazing to me that there isn't already a fitting laying around to fill scuba cylinders at your FD. Virually every fire department has folks that fill their own cylinders from the department air bank.....

All the best, James
