Looking for a refresher course in Santa Monica. Plan to do two boat dives in mid-Sept. Want to brush up on my skills prior to diving.

Anyone familiar with Haven's Reef Dive Shop in Los Angeles?

Any experiences in dealing with them?

Welcome to the board. As Laurens has posted, make sure you post you question with in the California Kelp Diver's forum. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Moved from Introductions & Greets forum.

I haven't had any experience w/ the instructors at Haven's Reef, but I recently rented gear there, and they were very friendly and reasonably priced.

You might also check out Reef Seekers in Beverly Hills. I had a short class w/ one of their instructors (Hal, IIRC) who was excellent.

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

I've never actually been in Haven's Reef. I've driven by a few times, but it's been closed whenever I've been by outside of normal business hours.

I've heard good things about the owner from friends of mine though. That's why I go by there from time-to-time to check it out. I think he used to be with Malibu Divers for quite a few years.

Haven's Reef is in Eagle Rock, which is quite a distance from Santa Monica, so I'm not sure if this is the place you're talking about.

Thanks for the reply. I think Scuba Haus in SM may be a better location.

I got all my training at Haven's Reef. Very good staff, talk to Scott Haven.
