Hi,
Just leaving Curacao today and looking to book another trip. I didn't dive because I had a stomach issue on the days I was scheduled, but we snorkeled daily and can't wait to get back to dive!
Where is Corral Estates located on the Island? I can't seem to find a map and some reviews said it was out of the way.
Thank you!
Nancy

Where did you stay and what dive operation did you use?

We stayed at the Lion's Dive and because I had a stomach bug the first days when I was supposed to be diving, we snorkeled at the resort, with the Dive Bus at the beach that has the B Diving operation and with Ocean Encounters at Directors Point (I think that's the name - near the Tugboat place.) They were both excellent!

100 feet!! Yikes!! Is there anything there more shallow?
Thank you!
You don't have to go that deep, but you can. The entire island is a slope. It's a wonderful dive at 10 ft and it's a wonderful dive at 100ft. YOU pick the depth you want to go to. That's true for Bonaire as well.

I have been to this resort (when it was known as "Captain Don's Habitat) 13 times. The house reefs (two of them, right and left) are among the best on the Island. It is a gradual slope (very gradual) and you don't have to go deep at all. I think that it starts from 5 - 10 feet. I used to stay between 10 - 30 feet taking pictures and then go to the sandy area, around 5 feet, on my way back to the dock and take pictures of whatever was living in the sandy area. I had a choice of either going straight out from the dock and diving there or going right or going left. It is easily 3 different dives. The only two other equal or better places to dive are Porto Marie and Playa Kalki/Alice in Wonderland.

Night dives there were awesome too. Overall, it can't get any easier and convenient to dive there and be in a VERY nice place to dive. Dive lockers are by the dock, you put your equipment there and walk about 30 meters (maybe less) to jump into the water.

I used Ocean Encounters. It is where I did my first night dive. I explained my experience and concerns. A dive master kept a good eye on me. They seem to be a good outfit. Didn't need much help, but he checked on me several times throughout the dive.

All this talk about diving in Curacao, I miss it so much. I had some of the best trips with best friends there.

I am going to do my best to go there in 25 (in addition to Egypt's Marsa Shagra). Heck, so many places I want to go to, I can't decide where now :)

Hi,
I found a resort named Capt Don's Habitat online. Does it have a new name now or is that a different resort? Thank you,
Nancy
