Call PADI (800.SAY.PADI) and explain what the instructor is trying to do. It would help to have another party (another student perhaps?) back up your claim. Then it won't be a your-word-against-his deal.

Be sure to have as much information as possible. Full name and PADI number if you can.

Why? The OP did not say an instructor was trying to do this, merely asking if it was an option.

I hope not, I guess anythings possible but why would any instructor want to take that kinda chance!

One more thing! Can instructors offer Compass Navigation and Natural Navigation as two separate specialities? I mean can the whole course look like this?

1. Compass Navigation
2. Natural Navigation
3. Deep Dive
4. Wreck Dive
5. Drift Dive

Thoughts?

Maybe the OP was a little mis-led by an Instructor trying to sell him Adventure Diver, and not AOW.
Either way, the AOW topic has been beaten into the ground on this board.
I agree with other poster's sentiments; A good Instructor will try to include as much as possible, certainly not short cut standards in an already "short cutted" course.
