I wonl't recomend one shop over another. I would recomend certain instructors however. One in particular who does a lot of personal diveing beyond the recreational level.

Excelent instructor who is very skilled in the water and will be able to teach you the same. PM me if your interested in raiseing the bar.

As others have piped up.... Ottawa has a number of locations that offer training (see the following). But as others have said, it's the instructor that counts. Speak to (PM) folks for their recommendations, and even interview the instructor to find one you like. When checking with the stores for costs, make sure you find out the whole cost for any course (what's included and what's not) As you probably recall for OW: course, course materials, equipment rental, OW weekend are required.

Thanks CUunderH20

Adventures has under gone an ownership change.... they're now associated with (in some manner) with Divers Wearhouse.

Don't forget the Dive Center in Stittsville http://www.divecenter.ca/ (PADI)

You'll receive best-in-class instruction and the benefits of small class sizes, extra attention and committed followup practice after certification with a very active and fun dive club.

Hi,

I'm personnaly partial to Sharky`s Talk to Mike!

The most important thing I think is trust, you have to trust the shop and the instructor. Talk/meet you future instructor. Sharky's has around 10 instructors...

Anyway, goog luck and hope to see you in the St-Lawrence.
