I had a HOG single tank wing. After only 2 or 3 years (IIRC), a seam started to come apart. It did get replaced under warranty and I promptly sold the replacement.
Not only was the overall quality not as good as some other wings, I didn't like the shape. It was wider, fatter, and shorter compared to single tank wings of similar lift that I like better.
The DGX single tank wing, the DR Travel, and my VDH wings are all slimmer and a little longer. I like that better. It is more streamlined (even if I couldn't tell an actual difference in a blind test in the water)
For a light weight BP, the Dive Rite SS XT Lite would definitely be my choice over an aluminum plate. IME, stainless holds up better over the long term.
