I have a new Katana 2 that will not hold sufficient air to keep me on the surface. I'm not overweighted (12 lbs of lead) with a single AL80 (quite buoyant at 500 psi). I'm used to back inflates (I transitioned from a 19 lb wing with AL backplate), and I can add sufficient air to get my head above water, but it quickly vents. The pull cord is not snagged and there is air left in the bladder, just not enough to keep me comfortable.

Is there a way to increase the spring tension?

I put one of those “pull-to-vent” valves on the inflator elbow. I really like them on my BP/W and didn’t think about how the inflator hose is always pulled across my chest

Like they say “Well that’s your problem right there, Vern”

Would it be reasonable to suggest you increase the length of your pull by a couple of inches

I never liked rapid dump elbows. On any BC of mine that had one, i disconnected the cord.
