The show opens up Friday here in the Chicago are.  For the first time, SOCIAL MEDIA will play an important part of the weekend’s activities. During the Show, there will be posts on Facebook show updates and information. Whomever is the 1000th “LIKE” will win a trip to Palau.
The Friday and Saturday evening film festivals are both loaded with new material and exciting footage. There is over 100 seminars to participate in and of course our show floor with manufacturers, travel destinations, DIVE centers, training agencies and of course all the fun little things to buy from a variety of vendors. The weather looks to be good and the excitement seems to be growing.
Stan Waterman, a dive industry legend AND a good friend of the Show, turns 90 this year so there will be a special event planed for Stan in the Saturday evening film festival. Our Emcee for Friday evening will be Jill Heinerth and for Saturday evening it will be no other that Paul Cater Deaton.
The award winner of the Friday evening Middle Coast award is Harry Zych, A local Marine Contractor, Hydrographer and salvager, Saturday OW-U Outstanding achievement award will be going to Jill Heinerth.
The children’s fun fair looks wonderful and we have our 60 foot whale back for people to walk through and learn about the whales, we also have Radio Disney back as a sponsor and they bring a ton of fun to the children’s section.
The art fair was a huge success last year and we have brought that back with even more paintings. This is a great place to come and look for new art work, of course the man who paints in blue Pascal Lecocq will also be there and his booth is always hoping. Plan to spend the weekend in Rosemont just minutes from Chicago’s’ O’Hare Field and a 30 minute drive to downtown. The hosting hotel is the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. We will see you all Friday.
