We first saw this as a $200 discount for one or more travelers booking Orbitz Vacation packages including Air and either car or hotel as a 5 night minimum for most Mexican destinations. That's been changed to 7 nights minimum I think.*

The 2009 code was ENTERTAIN200

The 2010 code is 200ENTERTAIN
* Caution! Western US & Canada travelers often take an itinerary with an overnight flight to the Central time zone for arrival in Coz the next day, but if you use a 7 day travel plan with 6 nights hotel or car, I do not think this works at all. Those Red-eye flyers need to use an 8 day travel plan that includes 7 nights hotel or car.
This also will not work for us who like to book 4 or 5 nights on Coz, then a couple more on the Peninsula. Well, it may work okay if you book 7 night minimum hotel or car at the primary destination and just leave or drop-off early. I wonder if that could back fire? :dontknow:

Interesting idea on the checking out/return the car early ... I wonder if you would get busted or not. Of course you'd still be paying for the extra night, so it might be close to a wash.

We've been using the code since 2008 and it's saved us a bundle. Our next trip - on Nov. 27th, we ended up with an ocean-view room at Fiesta Americana - and a car - for $525 for 7 nights. That includes all the taxes, and 25% off food at the hotel. Not bad for two people!

I was able to book a oceanfront room, car and food for 8 nights at Wyndham in Dec. for $591. Every year I look for inexpensive ways to visit the Caribbean, The Orbitz code is the best way I've found so far.

I read about folks getting these wonderful deals and even when they list where they found them I still cannot come up with the same results. What do I have to do on the Orbitz website to come up with these same prices? Any help is appreciated.

I don't know where you're hitting a problem. Sometimes when I try to use that code on a booking plan that does not accept it, I will get an error message that is kind of easy to miss. But I can show you how I do it maybe...

1: I actually start on Sidestep.com for initial shopping, but look for Orbitz results - see circled...

2: After I make the jump from that link, I scroll to the bottom, confirm that the price has not changed (was $900, now $899 each), insert the code in that box, and click the Continue...

3: At the next step, uncheck the option to pay too much for ground transfers in advance and confirm that the price has dropped to $799 each

a: Right-click "Offer rules and details" to open those in a new tab for review;

b: Click Continue to prepare to book in that other window.

Cautions: Sometimes you won't get that box to insert the code, or you may do something wrong when you do but overlook the error message or not understand it. Call 1-877-672-4893 for help.

Wish it worked for just the hotel or a hotel & car package. I get cheap air direct with the airline and use miles to upgrade. Can't do the upgrades w/ miles if I book a package through a third party.

It works for a person traveling alone as well. I was surprised. We are going to Cozumel in February and I have already purchased my ticket. My husband will be flying from Baton Rouge so I thought I would try using the code for his flight and a hotel room. We are going to book a non AI so this should work for the 2 of us. Thinking about the Fontan.

Haha, yeah - I don't know if it would work on my Elite courtesy upgrades or not? I really have never used this, just helped others; my favorite hotel is too small to be involved for one.

Yep, also works well that way if two people are coming from different cities. Just book the package for one, air seperate for the other.

I have booked other packages from other suppliers and have always been able to request the courtesy upgrade on Delta.

Cool. :thumb: That would be the Elite courtesy upgrade? Not a mileage upgrade, right?

My last trip was when I could get air for half what it would cost me today so I just did my hotel & dive package with my favorite hotel, my air on a Continental.com record with my dive buddy on the same record so he could enjoy my 2 - 70# bag limit. I passed up the opportunity to UG 72 hours in advance of flight as I would have had to break him off of my record, then waited until 1 or 2 hours until the Hou-Czm flight when I could UG us both. It worked, but I don't know that he was grateful enough. :D Worked okay on the return too. :pilot: Decadence...!
