:rofl3: Don't be so sensitive! Just wanted to see what they'd do. One of 'em already PM'ed me...seems like at least one of the pair can dish out insults, but can't take it. Me? I'm not so sensitive. Say what you will. I'm comfortable with who I am and where I'm from. ;)

Actually, this is where you are mistaken. This has nothing to do with being sensitive. Certain generalizations, such as those about religion, nationality, etc are just plain wrong, no matter what context you put them in, whether in jest or not. I am merely making an observation. Simply, a lot can be said about one's character by the ability (or inability, as the case may be) to take the high road, especially in the face of adversity or criticism.

It's true that TDI was slow to update their manuals, but they have updated several recently and are in the process of updating the rest. When I took the Adv. Nitrox and Deco Procedures classes (yes, they were offered together, not separately) we mostly used V-Planner, but compared results for identical dive profiles using other software too. We also worked with EAN50 and 100% O2. I'm not saying TDI is the only way to go...not at all...I'm just saying that the agency isn't as bad as it's being portrayed by some posters here.

I still say it's more about having a quality, knowledgeable, experienced instructor who stays up-to-date in the field.

I dont care how much TDI updates their manuals..They still promote deep air..Extended range course...180 feet on air...

Hey, like I said in the pm, not sure what being Canadian has to do with things...But hey..lick my ballbag

Young fellow you have serious issues you should get a handle on......I wrote a rebuttal to your slander earlier in this thread and you have seen fit to continue your distasteful comments to other board members. :shakehead: I feel sorry for poor students that sign up for your training....easy to write up fancy web-sites claiming all sorta of stuff.

It all depends on the instructor. I got to do one 185 fsw dive on air with TDI, and it was a great learning experience. I would not do it again, since once was enough. And all the various 150 fsw dives with EAN 25 with TDI were not all that bad, although I would not do that again either.

TMX 20/40 for 150 to 200 fsw (my own mix).

TMX 25/35 for 100 to 150 fsw (again my own mix).

TDI taught me how to develop my own mixes under the best mix protocol. This was priceless to me.

Not sure what slander your talking about...

.

So should a driving school let a student down a 6 pack and get behind the wheel for a learning experience?

The manuals are going through update....the Advanced Wreck Diver manual is very well done as is the Advance Trimix.

They have a different sense of humor down there in Texas. Things that sound funny down there are not funny further north. And vice versa.:eyebrow:

My favorite question to ask Texans in Texas (on business trips) is whether I sound like I am speaking really fast to them?

Or whether I sound like I have an accent to them?

They usually say, "Yah, real fast," or "Yah, from up north." [I am from Europe.]

Thanks for the info......but I started down the TDI road and thank god I did a u-turn before I got too far in...

The TDI class standards are low, but give their instructors allot of leeway to add additional information to the class that in the case of a TDI class... it really does depend on a competent instructor to provide a good class.
