Please...if you have some recent affliation with TDI, or inside knowledge...tell me what it is I'm wrong about. I'm all ears...or eyes as the case may be.
What part do you not understand?

Ask yourself why are there separate courses for everything? How come I can go into dive shops and see individual prices for these courses?

Answer: Because TDI allows it.

Do not judge TDI based on your one instructor. There are some good ones, but there are some real big hacks too. So if all you know of a potential instructor is that he is TDI...well, that wouldn't count for anything in my books.

Layne you really read the whole thread and still had the clearness of mind to be able to write a reply :D gotta be your breathing a wee bit of that He now! ;)

I just think there is too much fighting about which agency and which standards are the best. Bottom line, as the student, it is your *** on the line. You had better know what you are getting into and not leave it up to chance that you are getting good instruction. I think Kevin said it best way up in this thread. Interview your instructor and find out what they think. If you agree, move forward, if you don't go somewhere else....

Know one cares about your books anyways.....:14:

What difference does it matter what TDI does or does not do. If you don't like it, don't worry about it and don't take one of their classes.

I think 'most' of us AGREE to that....particularly when it comes to technical diving. :)
