Is it OK to use a H Valve with only one regulator attached?

Let me explain, I'm putting an H Valve on my HP-130 to allow me to use my doubles regs on this tank on occasion without having to reconfigure my hoses (only doing it for this reason - convenience). Lets say I wanted to use this tank with my teaching regs that are Yoke for some reason, can I just use the one post of the H Valve (PRO Valve) and let the other be open to the water? You would think water would work its way up into the valve to the seat?

I guess in general is it OK or not a good idea to take a tank underwater with no first stage attached to the valve?

Thanks...

I would just always use my same setup from doubles to singles, which is exactly what I do. *Shrugs* teach in a long hose, bungee backup.

If you really want to just use one side a stainless plug might be a good idea just in case someone decides in a panic to grab and turn your other valve.

If teaching and using a singles set up there is no issue with leaving the valve exposed. Just rinse and blow out the water before filling. That said the SS plus is not a bad idea.
