as far as streamlining goes i also dont see how a transpack is better than the oms. they are practicaly the same. I would be willing to argue that the oms is more streamlined if i had to pick one. I would say the oms because of how the bungee system pulls back the wing more than the dive rite. the dive rite also has a bungee system but in my oppinion is less effective than the oms. The oms iq is very similar to just a bp/wing but would prefer the oms iq because of the d-ring setup and how their is a more secure fit around your waist due to the larger width of the belt around your waist.

The large pockets on the OMS system tend to add quite a bit of drag that the Transpac II doesn't have. The OMS system I found also lead to some air trapping that I didn't like - this is why I switched.
I use the Transpac for traveling as it is quite light to pack but the backplate is a more stable set-up for duals and extra equipment.
I find the DR trek wing (#45) works well but I have been using the Deep Outdoors 40lb wing lately and really like it. It handles my doubles and two al40's with my battery pack for lights and reels etc.... and still keeps me much more streamlined than a large wing.
I have a DR classic wing for steels but don't have a lot of use for that over here.

Hi Guys,

The OxyCheq 30# and 45# single wings do not have a seperate internal bladder, the other shell has a layer of Urethane coated on the inside.

The 50# and 70# wings do have their own internal bladder with an outer shell.

The 50# can be used with a single tank, but there would be a trade off in more drag as it has a much different shape than our single wing design. That said, the 50# and 70# wings were desgined to provide minimum drag resistance for that style wing.

I am also happy to say that we will be introducing a number of new products at DEMA (everyone else will be as well) and we are still working on quite a few new products that will be completed after the show. At DEMA we'll have more wings (additional lifts and designs), wing accessories and some other products as well.

There are four other wings in development, and I hope to have three of them at DEMA.

We have also been working on a soft pac, called the "O Pac". A sample was sent to Chris at COVCI for his DEMO day that was held in Ohio on Saturday. I'm sure you'll hear some comments on the "O Pac " soon. It was designed for single tank use and has side mount capabilities. It is a very compact, very comfortable, no nonsence system.

I rarely have the time to post to lists these days, but I would like to end with a "thank you" to all of our friends and customers that have supported OxyCheq in the past, have given us the confidence and feedback in new product development, and have allowed the business to expand.

If anyone is going to DEMA, please stop by our booth and say hello.

Best regards,

Patrick Duffy

Hi Patrick,
I wanna start off by saying my dive buddy just bought the Oxycheck BP and harness, as well as your wing for a single tank set up, been diving it for about a month, and so far he loves it !!
It is a pleasure to have the Oxycheck team on the boards, and interacting with the product with their clients :)
I have not made a desion yet to what backplate and harness/wing set up yet, but from the reviews the oxycheck has gotten so far, and from what ive seen of the product now that my dive buddy has bought one, i will say it is very nicely made, has nothing but great reviews, and a great coumpany to satnd behind there product !! Thumbs up for these guy's!! Thank's !!

WOW! its amazing how people on these boards start to kiss major ass when a manufacturer replies to a board.

oxycheq makes a quality wing?. . . compared to what!

"OxyCheq 30# and 45# single wings do not have a seperate internal bladder" patrick

tell me. . . is that the sign of a quality product?

So what was your point, ... Let's wait and see if they pass the test of time before arbitrarily deciding seperate bladders are the equivalent of quality.

3500PSI once bubbled...

Pull thy head in - once you've been certified for more than two months feel free to sledge other divers on this site. If we had more manufacturers posting to the forum, you could have asked them directly all of your previous Halcyon, Scubapro and Apeks questions.

it doesnt take 10 years of diving experience to be able to compare 2 simple pieces of non-machanical equipment that just hold air.

Its a no brainer on telling which wing would last longer(exposed bladder/bladder inside of a case)

"Its a no brainer on telling which wing would last longer(exposed bladder/bladder inside of a case)"

Strange how a lot of smart, experienced people have not yet made up their minds....

I have single bladder Pioneer and it has never given me a problem.

The only leaks that I am familiar with have been caused by shipping staples and similar punctures. I doubt a kevlar cover would do much against a shipping staple. I've seen them go through thin aluminum.

Why don't you dive with the gear for a while before making judgements?

Peter
