With the exception of the damaged DIN fitting it looks like a standard MK5. The socket to remove the swivel retainer should be size 11/16" but note not every 11/16" will fit in into that small space. ScubaPro Lever Height Adjustment Tool review

Colored o-rings, seat etc: It was not uncommon for SP to color code their seals and seats.

Edit with picture of 11/16" sockets. Note the squared off deep socket available from @herman (if you beg, because I don't see it in his current catalog.)

Looks like a MK5 to me. Some of the old SP DIN fittings had circlips; they're not really necessary. The TUSA and oceanic balanced piston 'clones' are visibly different, just the design is the same. Parts are not interchangeable to my knowledge.

While we are on identification can some tell me if this is a pair of MK Vs or Mk 10s I mainly ask as I would like them to be converted and I believe only Mk10s can official be converted.

Location of the ambient chamber holes is the easy way to quickly determine if MK5 or MK10.
There are three sections. Low pressure swivel on the bottom, swivel cap in the middle, and body on top with high pressure inlet and outlet.
It is MK5 if the ambient chamber holes are in the middle section, MK10 has the holes on the top body section.
See post #1 in this thread for a visual example of each.

MK10s could be converted to MK10+, and Scubapro sold DIN conversion kits for both MK5 and MK10.

Thank you for the prompt reply and if I have understood correctly you are saying these two are Mk 5s?

So that would mean I can't

Yes they are MK5s. When you say “only MK10s can be converted” I’m not sure what you are talking about. If you mean converted to DIN, then both can be but the MK10 uses the currently available ‘universal’ DIN retainer available from SP. To convert the MK5 to DIN you’ll need to either find used MK5 retainers or there is a work around which I have never done but a friend has. If you’re interested you can search for threads about it.

While we are on identification

Hey thanks for providing so many detailed photos, whilst not required in this case it is still really appreciated

Thanks again!

As Halo and Kupu were mentioning, these two guys are MK5 with nice 5 LP Ports.
Usually it's not that easy to find the original MK5 DIN Adapters if you are not living in Central Europe, but in the UK there should be still quite some to find.
If you have no luck, probably I could help to convert at least one of your babies to DIN with an original MK5 DIN Connector.
I have many MK5, but I would have to canibalize one of my MK5s......

Thanks for the reply 👍

I would hate for you to cannibalise your stock for me just a poke in the right direction for DIN Adapters should be all I need.

I want to run a pair on Twin cylinders so would need two of those unicorns.

The universal DIN retainer is, I believe, 2mm shorter than the MK5 retainer. But it does have the side o-ring journal and the threads match. What my friend did (Awap for all the old guys on this forum) is use two 1 mm brass washers as spacers so that he could torque the retainer and have it make good contact. It worked fine for him.

I use MK5s as stage regs in cave diving, I love them. But I had to look around for DIN retainers for them; it took a while and some generosity on the part of a few forum members.
