Such good news, but I bet that they endured a worrisome and long wait at sea. One report said "The search for the Makers lasted 36 hours." and "A news release states that the Coast Guard rescued the Makers on Thursday, finding them in water about 15 miles offshore from Matagorda after the Ocean Sentry aircraft crew saw a flashing light in the water." I tried looking for more on the couple and even found his father's obituary and cemetery. Glad I am not finding their obituaries. Have I mentioned that PLBs are great?

36 hours.
With lights and they had two SMB's also >
That's one of the longest time rescue's in USA waters. Wonder if coast guard's drift software sent them in the wrong direction ?

I know. Great they could still flash a light after so long.

Do we know anything about their dive? Were they out there with an organized dive operator? This doesn't seem to be a Fling trip.

Wow! Was it a shore dive or boat dive? Not clear from what I read.

It sent them in the right direction. Actual conditions on site had the search initially in the wrong direction.
