I was invited to stay a week with a friend at Rough River Lake in her lake house with boat, jet ski's etc. I was wondering if anyone will be around who wants to go diving while I am there (my friend doesn't dive). I don't know much about where specifically we will be on the lake as I have never been there before. According the the Army Corps of Engineers website, SCUBA is allowed the only requirement is a dive flag is displayed. does anyone have any info about this lake? depth, temp, anything to see etc... Thanks!

I can only give you some VERY limited info. I have never dove there, so can't give you a lot of the stats you are asking for. based on the quarries around here, I would say there is probably a decent thermocline at about 20ft & probably another at about 40ft. The one thing you REALLY may want to concider though is the boat traffic. Having many friens who boat there, the traffic is very heavy. Not all of them, but there is usually always drinking going on & not many boaters know what the dive flag means. Just a caution for you.
