Can I keep my weapons too? ...please? locked in the safe..just so I can feel like a red-blooded American? Those Canadians just don't understand our red-neck side. oops, our cultural legacy.

I wasn't knocking red-necks, because I grew up as one.

Also, I'm not knocking guns in general. They have a purpose. I've done the core exam for hunters, used to shoot at the rifle range, and come from a long line of hunters/trappers. But do "city-folk" need them? Nope. I don't have one now that my lifestyle doesn't require it. And if I did, you bet it would stored at the rifle range. There is also no need for hand guns in one's house. It just isn't smart. Guns cause more harm than good. It's called being responsible.

WARNING!!

From the TOS:

"Profane, insulting or mean spirited language is simply not allowed here. Neither is any sort of harassment or bullying. Threats of any sort are grounds for immediate banishment. While the debates may wax passionate, there is no need to revert to personal attacks."

Thank you.

I THINK that the statistics actually support that an armed society is a polite society...."armed" legally that is.

Hahahaha... you're starting to crack me up.

Sure, if nobody had an illegal gun, I'm sure you "might" get some stats to back you up. But good luck, because when guns are available, they become available illegally more readily as well. But, you're right, if we just armed everybody, then I bet crime would go down. I'm sure nobody would get an itchy fingers.

Let me count the situations that could get ugly if everybody was armed: road rage, domestic violence, bar fights, etc. Of course, most of the time it would be argued as "defence."

But, I guess we're getting WAY off topic now.

I think I should get extra credit for the first 12 miles I logged on my bike today.

What, great thighs aren't enough?

This is a fun topic. I just want to leave a bread crumb so I can find my way back when I have some time to 'hang'.

Till then... I drive an Excursion and own several guns, including two hand guns I will use as I see fit. If anyone wants to state my case, have at it.

That does it. I am buying that Excursion that I have always wanted. And tomorrow night, I will leave it running while I light my illegal fireworks with my big smelly cigar, even though I quit smoking 2 years ago. Oh, and I intend to recklessly, and with wanton abandon, shoot several of my firearms into the air.

I'd suggest a Hoyo De Monterey Dark Sumatra. That's what I'm about to serve up. Very good, very offensive. It also burns evenly and has an easy draw, despite it's 6.5x52ish size.

Lamont - it doesn't seem to matter how many facts and statistics you provide to some of these folks.

I like stats, but not by themselves.

As most scientists know, many studies are flawed, and many statistics are misleading. I like to hear debates where you can hear both sides, where stats are referenced and then refuted. Obviously, I like to hear them from the experts.

It is obvious I'm not an expert in the area in this thread. But it's also obvious, few other people are either. Thus I don't really expect to learn from it.

Anyways, so while many "facts" and "statistics" may be thrown around in a forum such as this, I don't believe there are enough specialists here to really sway anybody. I'll be more open-minded in the scuba-related discussions.

did somebody call names? I thought I just called myself a redneck. Chilly, they are locked in my safe, just so you know.

Well, I won't be lighting any illegal fireworks, cause my son did that last year and so we are going to get our stock up this year.

Happy Fourth! God Bless America...and everybody else too.

while there's nothing wrong with Honduran cigars, i would invite you to try the original
