New Jersey?!?!? It's been raining a lot there, and cold. Nothing worse than cold rain...

What part are you in? I grew up in north Jersey.

Oh, and just to keep the thread on topic, do let us know what things are looking like at Ginnie. If JB is any indication of general conditions, then Devil's flow must be ripping right now. No forward progress in JB after the 2nd breakdown without a little pulling. Scooters will be here soon!

Jean - Appreciate the updates on Ginnie, keep em coming. If by some chance the Sante Fe backs up to the point of the Devil System being tannic, I'll probably drop plans for this trip until I can actually do some cave diving as well as socializing(its just too far not to get diving in at the same time!).

Hopefully its good to go though :) I'm planning on being there the previous weekend for Full Cave!

I am staying in Ramsey (right off of Route 17 North) and working in Franklin Lakes.
Actually , it was sunny here today and around the mid 40's. Quite comfortable :D

Bugger/Dive-a-holic: I'll keep the Ginnie updates coming. Actually , I noticed the flow hasn't gone up all that much. Manatee as of last weekend was LOW :D
Of course , I'll update you on the viz too.

Thanks!

It sounds as though we can forget about river drift dives for this MegaDive. Less than a month to go, and tannic down to 40' in the Ear. I doubt there will be any visibility at all in the river.

Other than the aftermath of the hurricanes a few years back, has anyone ever seen or heard of the Devil's System being undivable? Just curious.

River drift floats on the other hand....

If ya'll recall, the river was pretty black the last megadive too. Clear in the Ear, but the river was dark as sin. Did a river drift float with a few other divers then....

....look on the brightside: floating, rather than diving, will prevent Netdoc from missing the turn to the Ballroom! :D :rofl3:

I don't think you'll have to worry about Devil's being blown out. I'm not sure that's really possible for any extended period of time. The flow through the Gallery is just too kick a$$ to let the tannins get back there.

Its been flooded before for extended periods of time, its just most of the time a hurricane or three has to come into play first :/ Apparently not always though!
