I already Emailed them asking for information. Hopefully I will get a response tomorrow. It is not that important . It just started eating at me because I could not find any information on OFF-Shore.
I bought the suit for $100 knowing that it needed new neck and wrist seals. The zipper is in great shape. Seals and Adhesive were $75 from OS systems. I already had ankle cuffs if the Latex socks were bad. In the mean time I got a great deal on boots for it. $23 on ebay for the $100 OS System boots.
I can look at it as a $200 drysuit or a $200 lesson on how to install latex seals. My luck the valves will be bad too. For $25 the guy thew in the thickest underwear I have ever seen. It is like climbing into a mummy sleeping bag. I don't think I could use it in water above 40 degrees.

I thought you were on a limited time schedule and needed to make a purchase decision. When you work nights, things like this fill that time gap when everyone else is sleeping and the stores are closed. BTW that is the coolest signature I have seen on this board. :D

I think the patent cinches it. Paul Gunderson, one of the inventors listed on the patent, is also the President of O.S. Systems, Inc. O.S. Systems was incorporated in 1988, and the patent (filed in 1983) references Off Shore Diving Equipment as the assignee. From those two pieces of information, I'd guess that Offshore Diving Equipment became O.S. Systems, Inc. around 1988. But maybe they're still marketing the suit under the Offshore name. That kind of runs counter to my intuition, since there is apparently no information out there about the Offshore label, but there's a wealth of information about O.S. Systems. Maybe they do OEM/spec work?

I just got a response from OS Systems. It appears that OFF-SHORE Diving Equipment went to OFF SHORE Systems and then to OS Systems.
They tell me that the seals and Adhesive are the same and that there should be no capability issues.

The website is a little misleading when they say that OS Systems has been making drysuits since 1983. OK It is kind of like a dive shop saying that they have 60 years of diving experience when there is 4 guys that are 30 years old and the shop has been open for three days.
It is true if you do the numbers a certain way....also it would depend on what side of the argument you are coming from.

Reminds me of the old Abbott and Costello skit about the apartment rent.

OK....We are off to find our new conspiracy.

Hi, am reviving this thread as I went to look at a second hand drysuit over the weekend and it's got Off Shore on the front of it.

She said she bought it 6 years ago but has only done 1 or 2 seasons diving in it. It seems in great shape and fits perfectly. I'm thinking of buying it but will try it out first and see what my buddies think of it.
So if she bought it 6 years ago they must have been still selling Offshore drysuits then. Or is the suit a lot older than she's saying?
