I am looking at a Trilam Drysuit that has an Off-shore Label on it but it looks Identical to the OS Systems Nautilus. I have searched the web and this site for Off-Shore drysuits and Off-Shore Diving Equipment and found nothing.
Did Off-Shore become OS Systems or is it just a company that slid into the Abyss? I am thrown off because I know this suit is newer than the 1983 birth date of OS systems Inc.:drown:

I thought OS Systems meant Off Shore Systems. I could be wrong though, it's been known to happen before. Do you have a link to the pic maybe?

O.S. Systems is incorporated in Oregon under the name "O.S. Systems, Inc." It registered a trademark consisting of the words "O.S. Systems Incorporated" and a blue and red yin-yang logo. There is no reference in those documents to "Off Shore Systems." If the company were, in fact, named "Off Shore Systems, Inc.," that information would have to appear in both its corporate registration in Oregon and on its federal trademark registration.

Personally, I always thought that the "O.S." was sort of a reference to the company's domicile--something like "Oregon Scuba" or "Oregon-Scappoose", as the company is headquartered in Scappoose, Oregon. If you really want to know, just call them at 503-543-3126.

So this has been eating away at me since yesterday. I searched with ten different enigines and returned nothing. I wonder if maybe took a sailing drysuit and slapped some valves in it. I know people have done it before. Even still, I could not find anything about a sailing suit company called Off Shore. I'm going to keep searching though. If I don't, it will drive me crazy.

I have had an OS Systems drysuit for many years. It has always been my understanding that the OS did indeed stand for Off-Shore.

That being said, I cannot locate the old owners manual at the moment, so I have nothing to confirm my opinion.

You might try going to this link and sending this guy your question. He seems to be a wealth of info on OS Systems.

I was not looking at the suit on-line ...it was in real life.
I just went over the suit to see if I could find any clues.

Exterior label on chest : see below

Valves: Canada Dri Valve Whites Water Wear.

I told you guys this would drive me crazy! Here's a link to the US Patent Office web site. Note the company name. I wonder if maybe they changed it since then to OS Systems. Just for fun, I'm going to call them tomorrow and find out whats up. I'll let you know the results. For now though

I can't get the link to post right. Gonna have to cut and paste it. Now seeing your last post Dectek, I would say that the suit you're looking at is indeed an OS Systems suit. The logos are nearly the same and the patent registers to the same city in Oregon. If it looks just like the Nautilus and you're goning to get a good deal on it, I say snab it.
