Hey everyone...

Quick warning... The entire town of High Springs is a speed trap!

once you go through town and turn right on the road that leads to Ginnie (I think it's 340) DO NOT go faster than 40 until you see the sign that says 55mph! They will get you and it ain't cheap!!

See everyone there.
Rick

Thanks for the reminder!

Weather update:

well, it looks like it's gonna rain tonight for sure (80%) chance, and then Saturday morning, but by mid-morning it will stop raining and it will be nice Saturday and Sunday, though a bit chilly at night (dropping to the high 40's)

so ... looking good

(i rather camp cold than hot)
(and i'd rather camp dry than wet)
(cold and dry is heaven)
(hot and wet is misery)

I am out the door and on the way!!! A little later than planned, but on the way nonetheless!

JahJahwarrior:
Washed and vacuumed the car and started loading gear! Just gotta finish loading the gear and remember to get some sleep :)
Leave the washing and vacuuming until after you have been to the dust-fest that is Ginnie!

We'll see you all in the morning.

The adult I was riding with (dive buddy's dad) got a warning for 61 in a 45. :)

Today was GREAT!!!! I found out who Ken is, I guessed ScubaJenny's name but before I told her who I thought she was, someone else called out a hello to her, using her name.....then no one believe that I really had thought before that that she was scubajenny.

The drift dive was great! Thank you brewmeonetoo for the tank!

After that, a dive to the Ballroom with a tank borrowed from ClayJar---BMOT's tank was out of vip, and I begged Clayjar to let me use one of his. He was nice enough to let me. After this dive, we left to go to high springs for some early supper.....the car wouldn't start, when we got a jump, the lights were all flickering and stuff. So we drove back to Gainesville and switched cars--frommy dive buddy's dad's car to my minivan :) Showed up and got tanks filled just in time for the Galaxy Dive. This dive was simply amazing. The only thing more amazing was how kind ClayJar was to me. Not only did he let me borrow a tank when I ran up to him and begged it of him quickly when I found out the other tank could not be filled, but he totally gave me a splitter!! Now I can use the old Conshelf XII I have! So random, he's just like "oh, by the way, here's a splitter for you." !!!!! It's just really really freaking nice to meet someone you don't really know that morning in a dive shop, borrow a tank from them in the middle of the day, spend the morning cleaning up a river while sharing a mesh bag with them and staying close to the dive flag they have, then this person whom you barely know gives you something that costs $40. ClayJar, if you ever need anything that I can hook you up with, please let me know!!!

Done with the amazement, lets move on to the startlement---40 feet down in the ballroom I could have sworn I heard music.

Seriously though, I did! Someone (forgot who actually....brewmeonetoo??) had an underwater mp3 player!

To recap, this was a great day of diving and meeting people, including Ken, and I appreciate most appreciably the niceness of Clayjar.

Oh, and sitting here I feel like I'm in a wetsuit filled with water.

It was great meeting so many fun folks and getting in a little river dive this morning, and I wish I could have stayed around for the Ballroom dive – but I have got most of my gear dried out from last night’s rain.

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make it a wonderful event.

Thanks to scubafool for orchestrating this event, scott5644 and cmufieldhockey8 for being excellent buddys and putting up with my endless yacking on the trip, n@rco$i$ and his boys and all of the other scubaboarders who I haven't seen in ages. A big thanks to the folks at Ginnie Springs for the assistance and support for this event (and the passes)

The river is getting much better, the first clean up I did I pulled 8 full bags of trash out but the most I found on this one was 2. The trash was much more interesting this time around though. Fishing lures, hats, underwear and a camouflage womens halter top :)

cmufieldhockey8, you are welcome to borrow my reels and dive light to practice with and then use for your up coming cavern/basic cave class. After that you have to give them back though:) figured I'd post this publicly so I can't back out of it.

:11: You're my hero! :D To second what JahJah said, the SB community is so wonderful and I'm so glad I'm a part of it.

It was nice to meet a handful of you. I would've liked to stay beyond Saturday but had other plans already. Happy diving!
