Ok. Just got off the phone with David. He confirmed that it is ok to invite the Edivers.org group to our campsite. So far we have about 4-5 from there.

OK, official MegaDive announcment to follow.

The campsite will be (pending verification with Ginnie management tomorrow) the Turkey Roost area, the same campsirte that we had this spring.

The official dates are the weekend of October 27th-29th.

With the exception of a community omelet in a bag thing both mornings, there are no planned meals, so you will need to bring and cook food(or do like Ken and capture gators from the river to eat raw).

I will be there Friday somewhere around noon. The big day will be Saturday. There will be a cleanup dive in the river Saturday AM, then general diving mayhem Saturday PM. Of course, there will be the obligatory night dive into the Ballroom Saturday night. Sunday is a much slower day, but there should still be dive buddies available. The NACD is having a social Friday night, with a costume contest. Stop by and say hello to Rick Murcar (aka GDI on ScubaBoard). Camping fees are $16 per night for adults, and $6 per night for kids under 14. Dive fees are $27 per day, unless you are a diving god like jeandiver, who only has to pay $20. Jenny, feel free to modify the original post to reflect the most current information as it becomes available.

Dysfunctional Coordination Syndrome.
He has begged for assistance in planning this not so megadive, and we have decided to MAKE it a MEGADIVE! Tomorrow 9/19, he will be reserving the Turkey Roost Area again at Ginnie. This will be the area we used before where we threw Andy's tent on the river raft at night and he woke up in Tampa Bay the next morning.
:rofl3:
We will NOT be renting the pavillion, and instead of a massive BBQ feast it will be a covered dish type of event. We are trying to make things as simple as possible. I will be making a list which will be posted to the thread showing who is bringing what. Who? No, he's on First! What's on second. I don't know! THIRD BASE!
I will be attempting to take that Friday off work and help with setup and will most likely be staying the weekend now. As my character in the Faire will NOT be a combat character, it should not be difficult to take that weekend off.
After much consideration, we have come to the conclusion that lunch is always an organised chaos, no matter what we do. The only meal where everyone is present is breakfast. Therefore, we will have a communal OIAB breakfast, and a free for all lunch buffet covered dish style that continues all day long. This way, everyone gets up and has chow, then goes diving. Food is available all day long with nobody having to stay onsite to watch a grill or fire. As it is diffcult to set a time for everyone to meet in one place this seems the easiest method for our madness. It also eliminates anyone having to contribute funds for anything.
If everybody kicks in something simple, we'll have plenty. There is always extra food lying around.

If I am able to take Friday off, I should be there mid-morning to start setting up the banner and campsite. We will have the megatarp near the campfire as we did last time. All dry goods will go in a locker for the night and cold items will go in coolers.
A table will be set under the tarp for other items in case of Liquid Sunshine, so there will NOT be a 4 am scramble to cover everything. If such is needed, Andy's rainfly will be commandeered for such use and he will be fairly compensated with drunken sheep. No unlawful seizures, except after alcohol use. I will post more on logistics of the Megadive tomorrow as well as create a calendar event with dates, links and times.

Consider it done. :)
See ya in a month or so!

Is the Turkey Roost area the one were we carry our gear in or did we get one with car access? Does't really matter, just curious since I have never been there.

Great News

Now Jenny shame Marvel and Kbeck and Padipro into coming.

Wife says we will bring Baked beans for our dish.
Also a few dozen eggs, cheese and meat for breakfast.
