Pro99, this Zeta regulator looks like a can of worms. Buy a simple regulator that you can learn to service yourself. Clem is right, parts are free and labor will eat you alive. BTW, common sense says to stay away from anything that "twitches".

Ask yourself about your own motives. If price is a driver then one should also look at long term costs. A miniature, servo assisted regulator is just another Micra or Pilot; it's cute, breathes good and is a pain in the pocketbook. That is what happens when parts must be viewed with a magnifier and handled with tweezers.

All this talk about "effortless breathing" is overrated. It only means something if diving regularly to 500 fsw. At that point, get a Poseidon. For sport divers (admit it) the technology of demand regulators has advanced so far that almost any basic product sold by a reputable firm will be very good to excellent.

The above should be wood burned/metal stamped to the Regulator forum just after the "What brand. Which one. What type?" introduction.

However, it is likely to make some of the advertisers twitch.

Perhaps you wouldn't get snide replies if your approach was not so aggresive in the first place.

Secondly, can you show me your Oceanic technician qualification. Read the manuaol properly as stated. I will provide details for you as soon as i can get round to it.

Thirdly, i am hijacking this thread so i will pm you the details, you may then put it up on the forum if you so wish.

Buy as cheap as you can says more about you than me im afraid

Doc and Clem, (reminds me of Doc and Festus) you two could continue your disagreement via pm; however, I am interested in knowing about a mouth piece that twitches. I realize that we may be separated by a common language which could be the cause of confusion and disagreement (I am married to a Limey and sometimes I have to decipher her British English into 'Merican English.)

At any rate, Doc, could you explain to us non-Oceanic, non-qualified, non-certified techs about the mouth piece. Here in 'Merica we refer to only the rubber bit that fit onto the second stage as the mouth piece.

Thanks,

couv

once again our esteemed brit FAILS to answer the question about mouthpiece twitching and to share with the board where he finds this data in oceanic publications. Instead, once again, he becomes snide and declares he will provide details when"he gets around to it "? and then hijacks the thread, whatever that means..what are you afaid of?

what i am afraid of as our supercilious person puts it is not losing an argument, but lowering myself to his pretentious level. As i say, i will provide proof and will do so in my own time. Desperate men resort to desperate measures and the word snide appears quite often. for a man who brings the level down to name calling and throwing of tantrums without knowing the true facts tend to make me laugh rather than get angry. for those who are genuinely interested, if they could give me a little time i will provide the relevant data for them.

PS, i am english, not british.....

Will you please stop insulting the board and ANSWER THE QUESTION!. Two respondents have now asked to to clarify your statement about "mouthpiece twiching "and you have spent the time to reply twice rudely and SNIDELY. If you have the time to insult repeatedly, perhaps you could find the time to answer the question.
Another round of your snide comments without answering the question will serve as proof to me and the others waiting your answer that you DO NOT HAVE ONE.
If an honest mistake in syntax has been made, admit it. If not, show the board that you are qualified to run an LDS. Afterall, someones life may depend on whether or not their mouthpiece twitches.....

.....from what I've read/heard, the ZETA is a good performer, but it does have some 'issues'..... it can have a tendency to free-flow, and whats worse, it has no 2nd-stage adjustment knob to help deal with that possibility....so it's said to be a bit 'unstable'. I don't actually own one, but I'll admit they look kinda cool, and might have even taken a chance on one, IF they'd at least been built with a 2nd-stage adjustment knob for me to be able to tune it up or down as needed.
