I can't really comment on the D4, but I was a Suunto user for years. I just had a Vyper Air die on me, though. It dives on it's own now, even at the surface. My Dad had an original Vyper that broke on him about a year ago. Not the same symptoms, but the same result. Just out of warranty, and according to Suunto, not serviceable. So in both cases the only option was to buy a new computer.

I've kind of lost faith in Suunto. Also Suunto tends to be VERY conservative, even in the most liberal mode, to the point of really annoying non Suunto diving buddies.

I'm very likely going to go with the Oceanic Geo 2.0...although I am about to start beta testing the Android version of Dive Phone too.
