I just don't log dives
I didn't see too many reviews on this one when I was shopping, so I thought I would make a thread.

Basically, it rocks!

My comparison is a rental Sherwood, AquaLung and Apex (can't remember which , but probably a 50) that were used in our OW course. Those regs may have not preformed to their full capability due to being rental gear, but the EOS is head and shoulders above the ones I got to try.

It breaths so easy you can't tell you are on a reg. You do have to pay a bit of attention to the adjustment knobs, or it will flow. Once adjusted properly, I'm not sure it is possible to have a better breathing reg.

Our dive this weekend was to 25 feet since we hit the thermocline there (a chilly 57) and didn't go deeper. I can't wait to get it in the water again.

I agree 100%. I switched from an AguaLung/US DIvers Impulse and noticed a big difference. Very light and effortless breathing.

When I first looked at the swivel, I didn't think it would be much of a help, but it sure does - no fighting with the hose when you tilt your head. The mouth piece - well I kept my AquaLung Comfo-Bite.

It was "reviewed" in the Sport Diver mag - August 2008. The AquaLung Legend LX ACD "beat it".

57 degrees! Where are you diving. Even in Canada the water is in the mid 60's.

Heck OP compared the Eos to a rental reg.
I compared it to my Atomic Ti1,and now have to explain to my wife,I NEED an EOS.:rofl3:

We were diving in a lake here in MN. It was 80 degrees (air) and upper 60's (water) on the surface but the computer logged 57 below the thermocline.

To 300 bar-

At least I compared it to something and I was honest about what I compared it too so you could make your own judgement. Enjoy your Ti1. I'll enjoy my EOS and the extra $800 in my pocket.

Your right about the $800.
Just wished that Eos was there a couple of years back.

Where are you diving?! I've been getting mid 40's everytime I dip below the thermocline in Lake Erie.

I dive in lake Huron - Georgian Bay. When the water is mid 60s it is hard to drop below the thermocline - so we usually don't. Temps down there are usually in the 40s as well. bbbrrr

Enjoy the EOS and the comfy water!

Ok, I could quote all of you, but hey. As for the EOS, I've been diving a Legend LX and Apex 50, and neither compare! Well, maybe compare, but for the price? Not sure? I dive my EOS to 38* F and have no issues. As for the adjuster, I've talked with my Oceanic rep about the problem, and am waiting to talk with some of the service guys. But, for a quick fix, I put an o-ring between the knob and the housing, I'll be diving it this weekend and will let you all know. The only other issue I talked with my rep about, is not to be so stingy with the length of the hose. I mean come on, how about a couple extra inches? Well, at least that was my wifes request.:rofl3:
Joe
Still upset that the pirate is gone fron the post icons!! A troll, PLEASE!!!

Well, it seems to work, but is basically a patch for an issue that needs attention. I will keep on the guys at Oceanic and hopefully they will come up with a fix to the loose knob.
