I am about to book a 3 dive beach dive pack with ocean college. They offer Naama Bay (I have been working there I like the dive) Ras Ghasmila (I like that too is the massive Stingray still there) and Paradise which I have never dived as I was always either beach or Tiran or Ras

Any feedback on the current conditions of the local dives and the various banana boats would be appreciated

Thanks

Well - given that I work for the competition -
Na'ama bay is not so bad - okay the reef is not as spectacular as it is outside, but you are pretty much guaranteed to see something pretty cool there. Our house reef is also in Na'ama Bay and we regularly see big Napoleons, eagle rays, and this morning a juvenile feathertail stingray - which is very cool.

Ras Ghamila is always stunning - and a good chance of seeing some big stuff. There's a barracuda cleaning station close to one of the jetties, usually I see Napoleons and very often a hugely ginormous feathertail. Current there can be strong, but if you can't fight it, pop up somewhere and walk back - it's not far!

Paradise - well - you have to get the right bit of Paradise - it's awesome if you do it right, but that's my secret, and I'm not telling anybody, but I reckon the folks from OC know it well enough to do the best bit - not so much in the way of big stuff, but diving the pinnacles there is awesome.

Please nobody tell my manager I just said that! :D

Enjoy your time here mate,

C.

Thanks for the advice. Who do you work for in Sharm Crowley?

I am going for memory but Ras Ghamila I would do as a drift dive, never done it from the jetty. I wonder how easy/hard will be to go back

I am hoping the staff at Ocean College will be helpful enough to know your same secrets about paradise

I know Naama Bay beach pretty well I have clocked 100+ dives there teaching and actually love it

I also managed to negotiate one day from the boat as opposed to beach but frankly as I have video and photo gear maybe I will not bother going on the boat at all
