What does ocean acidification look like? I have no idea therefore I can’t tell you. I’ve heard of it on the East Coast. Manufacturing plants producing large quantities of acrid toxic gases and that exhaust going up into the clouds then when it rains the water is acidic and kills stuff on the ground. A lot of this has been cleaned up along with environmental regulations prohibiting toxic PCB’s from being created and set free.
China I hear is the biggest producer of pollution now and all that stuff makes it over the Pacific within a few weeks or less. The pollution on the west coast isn’t from us, it’s them.
I guess that's the price we pay for cheap products at Wal Mart and Target.

Eric, we've been shipping waste to Asia for ages. They're just starting to refuse it. You may think that lots of the garbage flushing into the ocean is only from there but lots started here at home.

I will start by saying I’m all for conservation and preserving nature.

BUT, Climate Change, global warming, global cooling, the next Ice age, whatever they are calling it now is a scam designed to control you and give you yet another reason to worry about crap that will eventually separate you from your money and personal Liberty.

Ask yourself how often the 5 day weather forecast is accurate? Not often.

Ask yourself how many predictions have proven accurate? None.

Ask yourself this, why is there always some crisis that requires something from you?

Ask yourself this, why are hurricanes suddenly the fault of climate change? Spanish Galleons were lost in Hurricanes hundreds of years ago.

There are far too many variables in play that are too poorly understood for their “science” to be real.

Our atmosphere and oceans were once acidic and will be again. Probably not for another billion years, but it's coming. We missed the big ice age everyone in the 1970s was warning us about, but the rising temperatures are on their way, I'm guessing by 1,000,2019.

I hate to say it, but here goes... I believe there's a lot of scuba divers who because they dive the oceans they feel like they have some morally superior Lorax of the oceans idea in their brain, but the reality is divers are among the absolute worst offenders when it comes to their carbon footprint compared to the average person. Millions of divers traveling around the world to dive reefs so they can take pictures of pretty fish.

Anyway, what's the over/under in days for how long this thread stays topside? I see we're on page 2 with our first Trump reference.

Wow. Here I thought divers would be a bit better informed and would actually want to conserve the oceans than the general population instead of keeping their heads up their a**es.

You can see and watch acidification causing young mollusk shells to deteriorate and take longer to form, but you wouldn't know that that wasn't normal unless you have a baseline in non-acidified conditions.

You confuse a divers commitment to conserve the oceans with conforming to a set of political views. I would think one would look for common ground rather than making inflamatory comments about those divers.
