The days total was 3 divers all with 15 bugs 2 scallops and one flounder. The guys at the fire house are looking forward to the seafood newburg tonight.

Hey Swampy, questions regarding flounder if you don't mind. Is there a size limitation? And if so, how do you tell before you spear/stab 'em and drop them in the bag? I see flounder on almost every dive, but just ignore them and continue bug hunting. Are they worth the trouble? Thanks.

Nice haul.

I still think it BITES about the lobster regs. They sold it in the name of "Conservation" but yet, divers take less than 1% of the annual harvest. They didnt touch commercial lobsterman!

Ya there's a size limit, it used to be 12" I'm not sure if it's changed. Flounder is a very, very tasty fish, but can be tricky to fillet. If anyone has any cleaning tricks please share.

Hey Swampy

Where did you launch from, Cashman park & how long does it take to exit the mouth. I go out with my brother & he was launching from the West Newbury town ramp on Parker river until the extorted err, raised the fee to $75. From there it takes longer to reach the ocean than it does to cross to Cape Ann.

Nice haul, I see we have some competition out there. Not a bad day at all. I wish I had a boat, but to be honest some of our best days are from shore, like the last one. :D

The size limit on winter flounder is 12" and on yellowtail it's 13"

Here's the source: http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dmf/recreationalfishing/rec_index.htm

I think those numbers might have changed from last year, but I can't find a pdf of last year' regs.

I have my tickle stick taped to last' years regs( I wanna say 15"? . I lay it down next to them to eyeball the size, then squeeze the handle open on my catch bag, and (sometimes with a push) they usually swim straight into the bag.
