@jigo: were they the medreps? yep, saw a bunch of them at babusanta, too bad barbie's resigning from the shop tho...

no. these family friends are teens. who's barbie? pretty as a doll?:eyebrow:

hmmm teen medreps? hehe yup! barbie's a doll alright :eyebrow: (she's a DM for windnwave, or used to be i guess)

quick question (OT): what do you guys think I should get for the backplate, s/s or aluminum? heard a few comments that the s/s were too heavy for wetsuits, but others would say it gives the best trim, plus you don't have to carry alot of weight on your hips, especially in salt water right?

Definitely going DIR, already have the DIR3 video hehe... BP/w rock! :rocker:

then you should have gotten the jetfin or replica jetfin instead of the split fins... and remember DIR is not just the equipment.. Its the back kick as well hehehe

yup, buddy buddy buddy  and that is why I get to use the LDs' jetfins for free :D

jon, how much ditchable weights are you using with your ss? mm wetsuit? single/double alum/steel tanks etc... i'm researching as hell but can't seem to get anywhere... given my stats... 5'3 1/2" ht 140 lbs with a 3/2mm wetsuit, I usaually go under with 8-10 lbs in a jacket, would the ss be ok? I wouldn't want to go under without ditchable weights, since the ss is already @ ~3kgs... :D

Bing, FYI I use an alu bp, STA, 30lb wing, and a small 2-3lb weight in a pouch on a tank. That's wearing a 3/2 full suit and I probably have more natural "buoyancy" than you :eyebrow:

I think a steel plate would be overkill for you.

no ditchable weights? ya gonna die :D j/k

@ bing: if you are interested in being a DIR diver, head over to the DIR forum. Also, PM ben_ca. He's a DIR diver and a pretty cool guy. Doesn't hurt that he's pinoy too :D
