did anyone see the beach volleyball game against Thailand? Last I checked it was tied 1-1 with Thailand up 10-6 in the 3rd set.

Can anyone translate these fishing methods:

kawil, panti, pukot, hulbot-hulbot, bubo, baklad

These are the methods used in nasugbu. Just curious. Thanks!

all i can answer is baklad...

baklad is a fish trap made of stilts... the idea is it's funnel shaped that direct fish toward its narrow point where a sort-of one-way gateway allows fish in but not out

during low tide the fishermen harvest... there used to be a baklad off shore of my tito's old property in calatagan where i learned to snorkel and love coral reefs (even if in retrospect it was a reeflet)

kawil - single hook and line

hulbot-hulbot, multiple hooks on a line where the fiasherman makes pull-pull (hulbot-hulbot) the line to snag fishes

Bubo - fish cage trap, weaved from bamboo slats whit one opening wherein it would be hard for a fish to get out.

Baklad - just like what jag described.

Pukot -

Panti - this is where they use a panti and use it as a net.(i think)

ahhh.... hulbot-hulbot! we tried this before in calatagan when fishing... it's similar to trolling and they use it for slightly larger fish usually - talakitoks (jacks) i believe is their primary target when they do this multi-hook line...

and since this is the PPD:

bubo - idiot, moron... intellectually inept
baklad - homosexual of male biological origin
pukot - headless
panti - female undergarment... my preferrence being white cotton and in a bikini cut... mmmmmm
kawil - william dimaano, npa leader... usually seen together with kajot and kabob
hulbot-hulbot - buck naked
