I never said a word about engaging in risk or blindly following a person - but I see you working.

My context was simply conversation and interaction. The boring and non-thinkers need to be banished and/avoided. I'm so done with the middle-roaders. Have a take, pick a side, defend an issue. That's what I'm saying.

In the world's bowl that is filling with more vanilla everyday, gimmie some flavah and some sprinkles, man.

Opinions and opinionated people aren't only good, they're vital.

True enough Ken. The world does need opinionated people, they make the best salespeople.

I'm as up for a good debate as the next guy, I'm just going to avoid the "my stuff is better than yours” or “If you don’t use this, you will die” arguments. After all, for me it’s a simple leisure time activity I get to enjoy with my lovely bride. It’s not my profession.

Take another swing at it. But don't wilt, don't come in soft, and don't make it personal. Sell it, defend it, make me think you've put some thought into your take. Even if I think you're all wet, if you've thought it through I'll respect you.

I love strongly opinionated people. Even the half-wits. Passion is much more rare than intellegence. I'll take passion everytime, as when a passionate person hits a home run, they share the lovin. Passion ignites. Intellect alone is a snoozer.

Sorry Ken,
I have to disagree with your Point of View. The world has been led too often (and still is) with "passionate" fools who dismiss logic.
If I take your argument to it's extreme, and I think you are encouraging me to do just that, then I would assume that you favor tyrants and terrorists because they are strongly opinionated.
Sorry.. just does not work for me! I'll listen to the soft-spoken, well thought out ideas & discussion over the passionate one every time.
There is lots of room for disagreement and there is no shortage of opinion. I don't choose my music based on how loud it is, but how good it is (in my opinion of course). I would say that "we can agree to disagree", but I think you would hate that ;)

One of my favorites. I took my son down to the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace a week ago and then took him to see the Theodore Roosevelt stuff at the American Museum and the Explorers Club (yeah, it was a real kick to be elected to membership in a club that TR was a member of).
