All regulators are compatible with Nitrox up to 40% O2. Manufacturers would like you to buy a second special reg but it is not necessary. Above 40% the reg must have O2 compatible o-rings and lubricant. Some regs come ready for 100% O2 out of the box but not many as most use rubber o-rings and rubber and high O2 don't get along. A nitrox class should cover all this in detail.

It's not rubber its the type of rubber used in the o-ring as well as the silicone grease that is used.

Didn't an Atomics first stage have problems with Nitrox back in the day?

Yes, it's the silicone lubes that seem to be VERY easy to find in all dive shops that worry me. I know a lot of shops, especially older ones, use silicone for reg service unless it's specifically asked for an O2 safe lube.

:no: There are only a few O2 compatibles that are readily available.
we manufacture one of them.

Hello Tribolube71,

Very glad to hear you offer an alternative to expensive O2 compatible grease. Could I suggest you add a link to your signature connected to a document or web page that better informs the diving community about your product?

Would be happy to just didn't want to hyjack the thread , but since you asked...
Here is the info requested, and we are more economical than the others from what people have told me. We dont sell retail but several dive shops are now offering our O2 compatible Grease/lubricant already. If you have a dive shop will about distribution possibilities. This product is a PFPE oil Thickened with a PTFE and has qualified to the MIL-PRF-27617F standard.

And the product is called TRIBOLUBE71

David;

I went searching on your website for "Tribolube 71" and found nothing. Could you post a link specifically to the product description? Would there be any way to get a sample of this product? I'd be very interested in finding an alternative to Christolube for packing the ambient chamber of some of my regs.

All scuba info is now up and live on our website for all to view.
Thanks for you patience.
