nitrox and prescription meds

I recently read in one of the dive magazines that there are some prescriptive meds that are counterindicated when using nitrox. I've also read that using Sudafed (or other over the counter meds) while using nitrox may predispose a diver to DCI (more so evidently than when using air). Can anyone tell me where I might find info regarding which prescriptive drugs are counterindicated? I've Googled the issue but have come up empty. Any response to why Sudafed might more predispose a nitrox diver to DCI than using it when diving with air?

Look again, as I think you read wrong. There has been some evidence that Sudafed might make an Oxtox hit more likely, not DCI. Even at that, it's still undetermined, as the risks at 1.4 ppo for Oxygen is probly still negligible.

Are you a DAN member? If so, you can search on their site for several publications.

If not, you need to be - even if you insure for diving elsewhere.
