Yeah...advanced will give you a different perspective, but then you're also talking o2 clean equipment vs. 40% compatability w/out special prep. and components. I just made the comment the way I did because your post had a strikingly similarity to one question that was on the nitrox exam. That question stuck in my head because I got the answer correct only to have the instructor say it was wrong until he actually did the math and found that his answer key was incorrect.

Several of the stores I go to partial pressure blend to get to EAN36 because they bank EAN32. That means all of my tanks need to be O2 cleaned. Its not a problem. Once each year, normally in January, I get all the gear O2 cleaned that needs it.

I think he was refering to the need to have your regs O2 clean and compatible not just your cylinder. That is the difference with mixes with greater than 40% O2, that and the need to have a dedicated deco cylinder as well as your "bottom" gas (usually).
