I was going to PM many of you who I know are DIR divers and let you know about the new SoCal DIR subforum, but figured that I wouldn't accidentally leave anyone out if I just posted an announcement in the main SoCal forum.
You'll find the subforum in the SoCal Clubs and Groups section here:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forumdisplay.php?f=467
This is a place for those who have already decided to adopt this system of diving and does not replace the main DIR forum as the place to find out what DIR is and get the most basic and fundamental questions answered about the system.
It's an opt-in forum and will be treated as a SoCal Club on ScubaBoard.
Anyone who has decided to pursue DIR is welcome to join whether or not they have taken a DIR-F class.
It will also give visiting DIR divers from other regions a place to find like minded team members while in the region, if that's what they are looking for.
This is a pilot for a model that can be used in other regions. Over time and as the need arises you will probably see other subforums like this open up around the various regions of ScubaBoard.
Enjoy!
