I'm a Fish!
i dont like the design of the mouth piece on my g500 reg. i am going to replace it but have no idea wich one to buy, of course thay all claim to be the best. i want something with the least amount of jaw fatigue. so i guess the thinner the better is the way to go? i need some insite please

First off is it the fit of the mouthpiece or the pull of the hose?

A different length or a Miflex hose may help. An observant buddy may be able took at how your hose routes while actually diving.

Seacure is a primary supplier of molded to fit mouthpieces. I hear good things about them but have no direct experience.

Cumfo- bite. Has a bridge between the nubs. Reg hangs in your mouth almost effortlessly.

I have a Seacure for my regs. and I love it. I had some friends who did not like theirs. Just be shure you follow the directions to mold it to your mouth. It can be remolded if your dental work was to change. It does help me with jaw fatigue. As said above it makes it hang effortlessly.

I used a Seacure for a long time, and loved it. Aside from having to reform it once to make it a little more comfortable, I had no issues whatsoever. When I switched to a long hose, however, my dive buddies complained about sharing that regulator with me. Apparently I have a big mouth, or too many teeth, or something, and the mouthpiece was difficult to fit in their mouth when sharing air. I switched over to the Comfobite mouthpieces, and fell in love all over again. GREAT mouthpiece!

The Scubapro mouthpiece is really a pretty good mouthpiece. Jaw fatigue is not uncommon with a new diver and it stem from the diver working too hard to prevent losing the regulator. You will overcome that with experience. That said, it is just hard to find a better fitting mouthpiece than a Seacure. I suggest you give one a try but keep the SP mouthpiece as a spare.

You know... We have all be talking about weight and pull but my wife's experience came to mind.

She has been very happy going to a simple little silicone mouthpiece that most shops have on their Trident accessory display. I think it's the RP-95

yes the hose is a little short but i got that problem taken care of for the next class, but with that said the scubapro mouthpiece is made to fit upside down or right side up. it has a little notch cut out that cuts into the inside of my bottem lip. i am ordering a seacure as we speek. thanks for the input
