I don't use the second stage swivels anyway. I don't know how much freedom the first stage turret swivel buys me.

You could buy a brand new conshelf xiv supreme from AMRON and it will stand the test of time.. LOL.. Funny how they are still selling the same model after 40 years... But only if you know where to get it...

Jim..

I dislike the second stage swivel, just to bulky for me but they do work well, never felt the need for the first stage swivel either, I don’t have a problem with them but the hose routing on a “Z” is fine.

I think Apeks will too, there are a ton of them out there and basically all use the same service kit. First stage is very simple with only (DS4/US4/non 5th port FSR/FST) 4 O rings not including ports and in fact one of the four is the same as a port plug. Not as big a AL but still...

I have 20 Ti Atomics of varying vintage. Hate the seat saver orifice, and if I could backfit it with anything, I would.

Wookie,
Just remove the seat saver wafer spring, and drip a little red Loctite into the sleeve that carries the orifice, if you don't like the valve popping open with zero pressure. It'll act just like a G250 then. You'll have to readjust the tuning, but other than that, I'll bet it should perform just fine. Can't say that I've tried it though. Only issue would be the orifice separating from the tuning sleeve, so you might want to try one of the softer clear Loctites (Loctite Go2 glue) instead.
Me, I LOVE the seat saver feature. That silicone seat material just never seems to take a set like Scubapro seats do. I've just readjusted my rinse practice for seat saver regs to hang the first stage over my shoulder while I'm washing the second, if I don't do it pressurized on a little pony bottle.

And yes, the B's, Z's all breathe the same.

There are lots of current first stages that would easily hold up for 30-40 years with reasonable care. I'm not so sure about the plastic second stages. Maybe some will, who knows. The oldest 2nd stages that I have are metal; much more durable.

But the bigger question is which companies will still be around and supporting their products in 40 years. If I had to guess, it would be SP and AL, just based on current longevity and market share.

Hmmm... I wonder if there would be a market for a replacement NON seat saver orifice CNC machined from Ti?

I have a lot of regs ,, I was really disappointed with my atomics , still prefer the d 400s ..but I have high hopes for deep 6s ...........

Interested in why you were disappointed with Atomics...

Just a shame that it will cost you a kidney and your third born. I know, I now only have 1 kidney, negotiated out of the third born.
